A Peek at KAD Creative’s Visual Identity Process

At KAD Creative, we have a visual identity process we use that we have crafted and honed over the years. Why have a process? Our goal at KAD Creative is to be intentional in the work we do and the designs we produce.  We want our work to be high quality!  When we engage our process, it allows our partners and clients to understand our approach and know what to expect at each step. We are always working to make our process seamless so our focus can be on our clients and their brand. We want our clients to walk away feeling their work with us was easy, beneficial, and inspiring.

With these goals in mind, we have developed a multi-step process that we’ve found works amazingly for our clients and our team. While we have some nitty-gritty behind the scenes steps as well, we want to talk about our broad process that we share with our clients so they know what to expect. We’ve found that when clients know what comes next, they lean in more, trust the process, and ultimately trust us.  And what is a relationship without trust?

Our Identity Process

1. Consultation

To best represent our client’s brand through design, we feel strongly that we need to have a deep understanding of the client’s business.  We seek to learn their story, goals, “why,” values, and brand personality.  We want to understand what our client’s organization does and why they do it and their passion behind it. Having this understanding gives us the background and connection we need to create the best work for them that we can.

2. Creative Strategy

After our consultation with our client, we will spend time mapping out our approach and strategy to creating brand visuals that connect the client to the target audience and at the same time tell the client’s story.  We will spend some time researching the audience and putting together a creative brief so we can ensure we are on the same page with our client and have a strong vision and clear path as we move forward.

3. Design

Once we have a clear path outlined, it’s time for our team to start designing!  We will create a logo and identity that tells the company’s story and represents the soul of the organization.  We will also aim to create items that speak to the company’s tribe and target audience—as a company is nothing without this vital connection.

4. Fine Tune & Deliver

We work with our clients closely to hone a final identity design that they feel is a beautiful representation of the heart of their business.  Nothing thrills us more than creating powerful visuals that delight our clients and their audience.  Once wrapped up, we provide our clients with all of the files and guidelines they need to confidently use the designs in a consistent and powerful way.

As we finish up the project using our multi-tier process and bubbling creativity, we aim to deliver an identity that is beautiful, strategic, and meaningful to our clients. And often, we’ve created an amazing new friend and a relationship that is mutually beneficial for years to come. We can’t help but love what we do and who we get to work with!
